چکیده

Abstract Background Monochorionic twins have higher perinatal morbidity and mortality than dichorionic twins. However, there is conflicting data on outcomes of uncomplicated monochorionic Purpose the Study The aim this study to compare apparently Methods This a prospective conducted from August 2019 December 2020 at specialized twin clinic. All twins, whose chorionicity was determined before 14 weeks with two live fetuses 24 weeks, were recruited. Complicated diamniotic (MCDA) twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, anemia polycythemia selective fetal growth restriction single or double demise excluded. Other exclusion criteria major congenital chromosomal abnormalities, order multiples, monoamniotic undetermined antenatally. Both groups followed till delivery neonates 28 days. Maternal neonatal studied compared. Results One-hundred forty-eight mothers (DCDA) 74 MCDA studied. Mean gestational age 35 in both groups. Maternal, fetal, morbidities similar both, except early onset preeclampsia that DCDA group. Prospective risk stillbirth for after 1.35 4.05%, respectively. 30 1.49 0%, Conclusion maternal are extremely low. Hence, should not be delivered electively 36 weeks.

Perinatal Outcomes of Monochorionic-Diamniotic Twin Pregnancies Uncomplicated at 28 Weeks of Gestation

We examined the prevalence of specific perinatal complications of monochorionic-diamniotic twin pregnancies in cases without any abnormal findings until the second trimester of pregnancy. This was a retrospective cohort study performed at a tertiary perinatal center in Tokyo, Japan. There were 88 cases of uncomplicated monochorionic-diamniotic twin pregnancies at 28 weeks of gestation. In five ...

Uncomplicated Monochorionic Diamniotic Twins and the Timing of Delivery

I n the past 20 years, advancing maternal age and greater reliance on assisted-conception techniques have dramatically increased the incidence of multiple births, including monochorionic twins (see Glossary) [1,2]. Concomitantly, there have been advances in our understanding of these high-risk pregnancies. The offspring of multiple pregnancies are at greater risk for adverse perinatal outcomes ...

Intrauterine growth restriction in monochorionic-diamniotic twins.

OBJECTIVE to evaluate neonatal morbidity and mortality in monochorionic-diamniotic (MCDA) twin pregnancies complicated by selective intrauterine growth restriction (sIUGR) and non-selective intrauterine growth resctriction (nsIUGR). METHODS neonatal morbidity parameters and mortality were analyzed in 34 twins with IUGR (< 10th percentile on twins' growth charts): 18 with sIUGR and 16 with nsI...

Prospective risk of intrauterine death of monochorionic-diamniotic twins.

OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to calculate the prospective risk of fetal death in monochorionic-diamniotic twins. STUDY DESIGN We evaluated 193 monochorionic diamniotic twin pregnancies that were followed and delivered after 24 weeks. Surveillance included cardiotocography and sonography performed at least once weekly. The prospective risk of fetal death was calculated as the total ...

Fetus papyraceus in dichorionic diamniotic twin pregnancy: a case report.

INTRODUCTION The actual rate of multiple pregnancies is significantly larger than that observed during labor due to the fact that in the course of pregnancy intrauterine death of one or more fetuses may occur. CASE PRESENTATION A twenty-six old woman (GII, PII) reported to hospital in 26 weeks of DC/DA twin gestation complicated by intrauterine death of one fetus in the second trimester of a ...
